A Macbeth

2019-20 ICC Theatre
ICC Performing Arts Center
Sunday, Mar 1, 2020 at 2:30 PM (CT)

The story of a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland.  Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself.  He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia.  Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from hatred and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler.  A Macbeth is adapted through using a collage format.  The idea is to shake up the original text, as you might a box of Scrabble letters, and see what new combinations emerge to tell the story.  Macbeth like you have never seen it.

Rated PG13 - for intense material (it's Shakespeare)
